Bhubaneswar: The dip in the detection of new Covid-19 cases continued in Bhubaneswar with the city reporting below 100 new positive cases for two consecutive days.
As per the latest update shared by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Twitter today, 88 new positive cases have been detected in the under its jurisdiction in the last 24 hours till 9 AM today.
With the detection of these cases, the tally of total cases in the city reached 28,782 with 1,996 active cases.
As many as 230 persons have recovered from Covid in the city during the same period taking the tally of recovered cases to 26,607.
However, the city has recorded four unfortunate deaths due to Covid with the death toll due to the disease mounting to 158.
As per the information shared by BMC, out of the new positive cases detected in the city during the last 24 hours, 17 are quarantine cases and 71 (80.68%) are local contact cases (or cases of local transmission wherein contacts are not traceable).
