Bhubaneswar: The roads of Bhubaneswar came alive on Sunday morning with the return of Patha Utsav.
Patha Utsav, organised by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) ahead of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, got off to a glittering start in the presence of people from different walks of life. The street festival unfolded on the Jan Path between Master Canteen Square and Ram Temple with participants presenting a wide range of cultural shows, including music and dance. The entire area became vibrant with traditional dance and music as well as an assortment of sports activities.
Much to the visitors’ delight, artists transformed the pavements with striking paintings and intricate rangoli designs. Captivating 3D street art installations captured the imagination of passersby, all meticulously crafted with the theme of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in mind.
The event aims at creating a rich cultural tapestry, reflecting India’s diverse heritage while celebrating the Indian diaspora’s contributions across the globe. Organisers are enthusiastic about promoting a sense of community and shared identity among locals and diaspora attendees alike.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das said the aim is to give a break from the routine and monotonous life and to rejuvenate the body and mind through dance and music, jogging, painting and other activities.
