**Bhubaneswar:** The Commissionerate of Police have got an approval to start three new police outposts under Zone V of Bhubaneswar police district from March. While permanent sheds have not been built for these outposts, the cops would operate from houses on rent, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said.
Addressing mediapersons on the sidelines of a Police-Public interface today, Mohanty said that establishment of three three new outposts was on the agenda for long. These are sensitive spots which need a better police presence, he said.
Mohanty added that drugs consumption and crimes committed by addicts has been a major concern for the public and the police. “We have strengthened our strategy to deal with this menace,” he said.
People residing under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar, Sahid Nagar and Nayapalli police stations assembled in large numbers and shared their problems with the Twin City police chief. Other issues discussed at the meet were traffic and senior citizens’ registration and police officers’ visits to the elderly persons.
