Bhubaneswar: In the wake of intense heat wave conditions prevailing across Odisha, people are struggling to manage their daily chores especially during the afternoon hours. With Bhubaneswar clocking 40 degrees a day back, the met department has predicted that there will not be any relief from the heat over the next few days.
The IMD has predicted heat wave conditions will prevail across the state for the next three days during which temperature will remain above 40 degree Celsius and may touch 45 degrees Celsius in some districts. In Bhubaneswar the day temperature is expected to cross 40 degrees Celcius on May 23 and 24, the IMD officials said.
“The temprature of Bhubaneswar will be around 39 and 40 degrees in the next two days. During the afternoon there will be chances of cloudy sky and thunderstorm,” IMD Bhubaneswar director, HR Biswas said.
In the northwest corners of Odisha, there will be a heat wave condition. Sundergarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur will experience intense heat during the daytime, he added.
“In Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur will witness thunderstorm activity and accordingly a lightning warning has been issued,” said Biswas.
