Bhubaneswar: All the shops in Bhubaneswar Unit 1 market will remain closed for the next four days. The Unit-1 Vegetable Vendors’ Association has decided to keep the market shut due to the non-fulfillment of their demands.
The association said that their demands for the parking lot, drainage system, and eviction of illegal encroachment have remained unheeded.
Besides, the permanent traders expressed dissatisfaction over the rising number of street and makeshift vendors.
Moreover, customers do not prefer to visit marketplaces as they are not allowed to park vehicles on the street side.
Earlier, the Market Building had been shut for 17 days in a similar way due to the dispute between the makeshift vendors and permanent traders for a long time. Now, a similar situation has arisen in the vegetable market over parking issues and encroachment.
