Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar is bracing for a sweltering day as the temperature soared to 33 degrees Celsius as of 8:30 am today. The humidity level has also been reported at 64.5%, adding to the discomfort.
Taking to his X handle, weather scientist Umasanker Das shared the temperature and humidity of the state capital by 8:30 am.
He wrote: “Unbearable humidity continued. Temperatures in the capital reached 33 degrees this morning. As of 8:30 am today, the temperature in the capital, Bhubaneswar, was a record 33 degrees, and the humidity was 64.5%.”
The unbearable humidity and rising temperature are expected to make the day feel even hotter, prompting residents to take necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised people to stay indoors due to forecasted rain and thunderstorms in several districts of Odisha until May 23.
