**Bhubaneswar:** To facilitate smooth running of the smart city, seven pumps from Odisha Fire Services and 14 from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) were engaged today for de-watering activity.
13 teams across 13 sub zones were also deployed to monitor the situation across the city in 67 wards. At least 40 engineers were also on high alert to manage any kind of situation due to high rainfall.
The seven pumps of Odisha Fire Services pumps were engaged at Gouri Garden, Gouri Nagar, Gouri Shankar English Medium School, Ratna Villa and Pabitra Guest House.
The BMC pumps were engaged at Mallick Complex, Nilakantheswar Temple in Baramunda, Paika Nagar, New Forest Park Colony, Gayatri Nagar, Rudrapur near Pahala, Adhekhala behind of BJB Nagar, Malianta Tank, Garage Chhak Sai Temple, Sriram Nagar, and Nuagaon Main Road.
12 complaints about water-logging were received at the Storm Water Control Room in BMC office from 6 am in the morning till 6 pm in the evening.
With the 72.7 mm rainfall during last night many low-lying and vulnerable localities needed de-watering pumps and for that several ones were pre-positioned by the fire officials and BMC authorities as per the warnings issued by IMD.
