Bhubaneswar Youth Arrested, Stolen Pistol Seized

Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police have arrested a 20-year-old youth on charges of stealing a firearm.

Police have seized a stolen licenced pistol and ammunition from the accused identified as Rahul Jena, a resident of Sitaram Basti in Bharatpur under Khandagiri police limits.

According to the police, the pistol belongs to one Sambit Padhi (38) of BJB Nagar.

Padhi through a written complaint to the police had reported the theft of his licenced pistol on September 22 when he had gone out of his vehicle on the new Jagamara road.

According to reports, it was a social media post that played spoilsport in Rahul’s dream of becoming a gangster and then him being ultimately getting caught by the police.

The 20-year-old had a throbbing desire to become a gangster and terrorize people.

To achieve his dream he stole the pistol. Brandishing the stolen pistol he had terrorized the inhabitants of Tapobana Basti under Khandagiri police limits and had forced them to address him as ‘Bhai’, aka Mumbai underword style.

In the excitement to make his presence felt he posted a picture of the stolen pistol on social media. It was this blunder that made the police reach him leading to his arrest.
