Bhubaneswar: Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar has conducted a comprehensive Fog Preparedness Dry Run to ensure smooth, safe and uninterrupted flight operations during the ongoing fog season.
The exercise involved various stakeholders, including Air Traffic Control (ATC), all Airlines, CISF, Fire services, Engineering, Airport Operations, ground handling agencies, Meteorological officials, Cab aggregators and State police.
The dry run included verification of airside readiness, checking signage, markings, lighting systems, and passenger facilitation arrangements. Contingency protocols for diversions, delays, and passenger handling were also reviewed. Critical equipment, including visibility-related aids and coordination tools, was tested.
