Cuttack: Badambadi police on Friday arrested a notorious bike lifter Munna alias Biswajit Swain from Jagatsinghpur and seized five stolen bikes from him.
Police said that one Navdeep Singh’s bike was stolen from in front of a garment showroom on July 21 and he had lodged a complaint at Badambadi police station. During the investigation, police scanned CCTV footage to zero in on the accused and apprehended him.
“We examined CCTV footage of his entry and exit and finally apprehended Munna alias Biswajit Swain alias Ranjit Swain while investigating a bike theft case registered at Badambadi police station on July 21. He is involved in several cases of bike lifting. He used to operate in Cuttack and its nearby districts like Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, etc,” informed Swastik Panda, ACP, Zone IV.
