Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, one was killed and four others were injured after a head-on collision of one scooter and motorbike near Kuduki Chhak, Dindira village under Phiringia police station limits in Kandhamal district on Thursday.
According to sources, the mishap happened when three bike-borne youths from the Panga village of Phiringia collided with a scooter near Kuduki Chhak while returning home. In the incident, the bike rider and one pillion were severely injured, while one sustained minor injuries.
Similarly, the scooter rider and pillion were also seriously injured.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Fire department officials of Phiringia swiftly rescued the injured, shifting them to the District Headquarters Hospital, Phulbani for treatment.
In the hospital, one of the four injured people succumbed to injuries, whereas four others are being treated.
The deceased has been identified as one Parshuram Kanhar of Panga village.
