Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, a biker was burnt to death in a fire triggered by the head-on collision of his two-wheeler with another on Kudpani road under Birmitrapur police station of Sundargarh district on Monday morning.

According to reports, the deceased biker, Ashok Agarwal, a native of Jharkhand, was on his way to Birmitrapur from Raiboga this morning. Two persons on another bike were going towards Raiboga from Birmitrapur. Both the bikes were speeding and collided against each other on the Kudpani road.

A fire was triggered as an impact of the collision and all the three bikers fell into it.

Hearing their screams, passers-by rescued two people from the flames but could not rescue Ashok Agarwal as he got stuck in his two-wheeler. As a result, he burnt to death.

On being informed, Birmitrapur police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and doused the fire. While the two bikes were completely burnt to ashes, the body of Agarwal was recovered and sent for post-mortem.

The injured bikers, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, were first admitted to Birmitrapur Government Hospital. As their condition worsened, they were shifted to Rourkela.
