Sambalpur: A young biker was killed on National Highway No. 53 near Dhanupali Chhak in Sambalpur district after a collision with an SUV on Friday night.
According to reports, the accident took place at around 11:00 pm on Friday.
The victim, identified as Ranjit Mohapatra, was riding his bike on Sambalpur Dhanupali road toward Cuttack Road. Suddenly, a speeding SUV came in front of him and he lost control of the bike. The SUV while trying to overtake another vehicle hit the bike and overturned. Ranjit fell off his bike and died on the spot. The driver of the SUV managed to flee the scene.
On being informed, Dhanupali police reached the spot and rushed the injured to the Sambalpur District Government General Hospital where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
Police seized both vehicles and launched an investigation.
