Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday appointed Bimalendu Ray as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Sonepur. Ray, OAS (SS), was serving as Special Secretary to the Works Department of the Government of Odisha.
A notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department of the Odisha government today read, “ln exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act ll of ‘1974), the state government do hereby appoint Shri Bimalendu Ray, OAS (SS) as the District Magistrate in the district of Sonepur.”
