Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi directed concerned authorities to complete the renovation and beautification works of the revered Biraja Temple in Jajpur within the stipulated timeframe.
According to a release from the CMO office, the Biraja Temple, mentioned in the Mahabharata, Adi Shankaracharya’s Shakti Peeth Stotram and Bamana Purana, is a revered pilgrimage site. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is steadfastly committed to the holistic development and preservation of the sacred Biraja shrine, ensuring its grandeur and sanctity are maintained for generations to come. The temple’s development and beautification projects are being undertaken to provide better facilities to devotees and promote tourism in the region. In addition to this, new projects will also be undertaken to ensure the comprehensive development of the temple.
In consideration of the immense spiritual significance of Biraja Temple for countless devotees, the authorities concerned have been instructed to expedite the completion of ongoing projects within the prescribed timeline, ensuring that the temple’s sanctity, serenity, and aesthetic grandeur are meticulously preserved and enhanced, revealed sources.
Notably, as one of the 18 prominent Shakti Peethas in the country, the Biraja Temple holds immense spiritual significance for the people of Odisha and India as a whole.
