Cuttack: A youth was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electric wire connected to a pole in front of the Madhukunj Park Sunday night. The tragic incident took place when he was about to return home after attending his friend’s birthday party.
Sources said, the deceased identified as Alok Pradhan (23), a resident of Stewart Patna of Cuttack, had gone to Madhukunj Park at Tulasipur to attend his friend Akash’s birthday party last night.
He along with another friend Udit came in contact with an electric wire connected to the electric pole in front of the park when they were about to leave for their respective homes after celebrating their friend’s birthday.
Both of them were rushed to a hospital. While Alok was declared dead on his arrival, his friend Udit is undergoing treatment after sustaining critical injuries in the mishap.
