Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Biswa Bushan Harichandan has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Harichandan will be the 23rd AP Governor and will succeed ESL Narasimhan.
Harichandan is one of the founder members of the Bhartiya Janata Dal in Odisha. He held key portfoilios such as Revenue and Disaster Management and Law in the coalition Government of BJD and BJP in Odisha during 2000 – 2009.
He was elected twice as an MLA from the then Janata Dal to Odisha Assembly.
As per a communiqué issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan today evening, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Biswa Bhusan Harichandan as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Anusuiya Uikey as the Governor of Chhattisgarh.
