Bittihotra Mohanty Is Finally Free From Rajasthan Jail

**Bhubaneswar**: Bitti Mohanty is a free bird now. He was released from a jail in Jaipur today after completing his sentence on the parole violation case, informed his lawyer Sarthak Nayak.

In a telephonic conversation with OMMCOM NEWS, Sarthak Nayak said, “Even after the Supreme Court’s order of granting him bail in the rape case, his sentence of three months in the parole jumping case still existed due to which he was unable to come out of the jail earlier.”

“We again fought for the parole jumping case in the Rajasthan High Court. It was disposed off before the apex court and Rajasthan’s High Court. So there is no reason whatsoever to keep him in jail. He is out from the jail permanently today. But he would appear before the Cantonment PS in Cuttack, his home town as and when necessary as per the bail conditions. He has to surrender his passport.”

Notably in March 2006, Bitti was convicted for raping a 26-year-old German national in a hotel in Alwar, Rajasthan. He was sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment by the Jaipur Fast Track Court. But after getting parole on the ground of visiting his ailing mother, he had absconded in 2006.

After seven years on the run, he was re-arrested in March 2013 by the Kerala police from Kunnur where he was working in a bank on a fake identity.
