Bhubaneswar: The State government today sought an explanation from the authorities of BJB College, Bhubaneswar, regarding non-action for the extension of autonomous status and two other matters.
In a letter to the College Principal, the Higher Education Department also sought to know the reason behind the pending of NAAC reaccreditation.
The College has not taken any sincere action for the extension of autonomous status even as the same has lapsed since December 31, 2022, the department said.
The letter further read “NAAC reaccreditation of the college is still pending even after repeated communication from the council.”
Besides, the college has not yet made a fresh proposal for re-constitution of the Governing Body.
The college authorities have been directed to submit an explanation for negligence shown towards these subjects to the department for further action.
