Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has setup three teams to probe the suicide case of college student Ruchika Mohanty.
ACP Paresh Rout said the note recovered during inquest corroborated the abetment to suicide angle. “We have registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC and investigating further,” he said.
The preliminary investigation highlighted a ragging angle in the case, police sources said. The family members of the deceased also indicated towards this aspect might have forced Mohanty to take the extreme step, reports added.
Mohanty was a student of Plus III, Arts at BJB Autonomous College here. She was staying in campus in one of the ladies’ hostels of the institution.
