Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has distributed responsibilities to its leaders for the upcoming Nuapada by-election.
According to a party notification, 36 leaders have been assigned to two blocks – 18 for Nuapada block and 18 for Komna block. Additionally, 16 leaders have been given responsibilities for two NACs – 8 for Nuapada NAC and 8 for Khariar Road NAC.

The move comes after BJD president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that he would campaign for the party’s candidate in Nuapada. With the announcement of candidates by major parties, campaigning has already begun in Nuapada, and the election is set to witness a keen contest.
The BJD has fielded former Minister and two times MLA Snehangini Chhuria as party candidate for the by election.
