Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday expelled Pramod Rath, the party’s Sambalpur District Committee Advisor, for anti-party activities.
In a press communiqué issued today, BJD’s Organisational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das wrote Rath has been expelled from the party for anti-party activities with immediate effect.
It is worth mentioning here that Rath had called a press conference today to announce his resignation and disassociation from the BJD for alleged lack of commitment on the part of the state government in establishing a permanent bench of the Orissa High Court in western Odisha. Interestingly, the party expelled him before he could resign.
