Nabarangpur: A five-member flying squad of the Election Commission of India (ECI) headed by Umerkote BDO cum Flying Squad head Priti Ranjan Rath searched a helicopter used by bureaucrat-turned-politician and senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Kartik Pandian after it landed at Umerkote on Friday.
The checking which lasted for 20-25 minutes was conducted by the ECI team following the guidelines issued by the ECI, said an official source.
However, no objectionable material was found in the helicopter, the source added.
Pandian addressed public meetings at Umerkote and Jharigaon under the Nabarangpur Parliamentary constituency as part of his party’s campaigning for the elections.
