Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha today submitted a memorandum with a list of demands to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The MPs met Shah at his Parliament Chamber this morning. They have put forth the following demands in the memorandum presented.
1. For increasing the reservation beyond 50% ceiling by enacting a Central Legislation for the empowerment of States.
2. Undertaking Caste-based Census for identifying and enumerating the SEBC/OBCs.
Shah appreciated the concern of the BJD MPs for increasing the reservation ceiling beyond 50% and for the Caste-based Census for the SEBC/OBCs. The meeting was cordial and positive.
