Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today resumed its agitation against the rise in the price of cooking gas (LPG) by staging demonstration outside the RDC (Central Range) Office in Cuttack and other places.
Along with the RDC (Central Range) Office, activists of the youth, students, and women wings of the BJD are holding demonstrations in front of the ADM and IOCL office in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier on November 4, the BJD which was agitating against the Centre over the rising prices of petrol and diesel had demanded a cut in the price of cooking gas (LPG). It had given a 10-day deadline to the Centre to reduce the price of cooking gas and warned to continue with its agitation if the latter failed to do so.
The party on November 17 announced to continue with its agitation at the RDC level. The announcement was made at a presser here by the party’s senior leader and women’s wing president Pramila Mallick. She had also said that protests will be also organised at the blocks falling under the jurisdictions of the aforementioned RDCs.
