Bhubaneswar: Parshuram Dhada, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA from Soro in Odisha’s Balasore district, joined the BJP along with his supporters at a function organised at the headquarters of the saffron party in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
BJP state president Manmohan Samal, former president Samir Mohanty, party’s election co-in-charge Lata Usendi, and the party’s Balasore MP nominee Pratap Sarangi welcomed Dhada and his supporters to the party.
Parshuram had resigned from the BJD a few days ago, angry over being denied the party ticket. The BJD has fielded Madhab Dhada as its candidate for the Soro Assembly seat.
