Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik will file his nomination papers for the Kantabanji assembly constituency in Bolangir district on Thursday.
Naveen is scheduled to submit his nomination papers at the Deputy District Collector’s office after reaching the helipad at Titlagarh.
According to sources, the district administration has beefed up security arrangements for Naveen Patnaik’s visit. Naveen is contesting from the Kantabanji assembly segment for the first time.
On April 30, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik filed his nomination papers for the Hinjili Assembly seat where voting will be held on May 20. Patnaik had won the Hinjili Assembly seat five times since 2000.
Before filing his nominations, Naveen offered prayers at the Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam district.
5T Chairman VK Pandian, BJD candidate for the Berhampur Lok Sabha Bhrigu Baxipatra and Odisha Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha accompanied the Chief Minister to the Chhatrapur Sub-Collector’s office where he filed his nomination papers.
