Bhubaneswar: Many activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) barged into the Collector office in Bhadrak on Thursday alleging a lackadaisical attitude by the State Government in the reservation of seats for upcoming panchayat elections.
The activists scuffled with police personnel and ravaged the property on the premises of the Collectorate.
It is worthwhile to mention that the State Government has set January 12 as the last date for receipt of objections and suggestions by the District Magistrates on the proposed delimitation of wards and reservation of seats.
Publication of the Notification relating to the delimitation of wards and reservation of seats has to be completed by January 13.
Appeal against the publication of Notification made by the District Magistrates for delimitation of wards and reservations of seats before the Government in H&UD Department has to be completed by January 27 beginning January 13.
While appeals will be heard from January 28, the issue of final notification by the District Magistrates will be intimated later.
