Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Wednesday appealed to various private hospitals to refrain from stopping treatment to poor patients by creating confusion on Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).
In a clarification, BJP State President Manmohan Samal said that various complaints are coming from private hospital that patients are refused treatment.
“Some private hospitals of the state are returning patients without providing treatment saying that the BSKY has been closed. This is very unfortunate,” said Samal.
Patients and diseases have no caste, religion or political parties. It is the priority of every government to provide health services to the common citizens, Samal added.
The BJP leader further stated that change of government is a continuous process. It is a social and legal crime to create confusion in people’s minds and keep them away from medical services.
Samal asked the administration to look into such social crimes and to provide health services to the people of Odisha.
Earlier in the day, Samal said that Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, a flagship programme of the previous BJD government, would be replaced by the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
