Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is expected to release its next list of candidates for several states including Odisha after the Central Election Committee on Saturday night approved the names of candidates for Odisha.
Even though the party has not yet released the list, national media reported that the CEC discussed candidates for Odisha. As per media reports, Dharmendra Pradhan is likely to contest from Sambalpur, Sambit Patra from Puri, and Aprajita Sarangi from Bhubneshwar in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Similarly, Pratap Sarangi may again fight from Balasore while sitting MP Sangita Singh Deo is likely to contest from Bolangir Lok Sabha seat. From Dhenkanal, Rudra Pani may be given one more chance.
As per reports, Balabhadra Majhi is likely to be fielded from Nabarangpur.
However, the names of two sitting MPs might be removed from the list.
The CEC discussed the poll strategy for Odisha in the late-night meeting. “Candidates and polls strategy were discussed. The CEC will decide the final list of candidates,” Odisha BJP chief Manmohan Samal told a news agency in Delhi after the meeting.
The crucial meeting was attended by BJP President JP Nadda, PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, CM Yogi Adityanath, Baijayant Panda, and others.
