Jajpur/Balasore/Badrak: Pacing up his ongoing electioneering for the parliamentary and assembly constituencies that are slated to go for the polls in the final Phase-IV election for Odisha, BJD supremo-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today pointed finger at BJP by saying that it is losing every election across the country and lampooned its double engine cliché.
Addressing the voters in a bid to canvass for his party candidates (both MPs and MLAs) of the parliamentary as well as assembly constituencies here, Naveen burst, “The big leaders of BJP remember Odisha only during election. They didn’t turn up during flood, Phailin, Titli, Hudhud and drought. Now they have come to beg votes by shedding crocodile tears.”
Taking a potshot, the regional satrap remarked, “BJP formed Government at the Centre in 2014. People expected a lot from it. BJP has lost people’s faith in the last five years. Post demonetization, the poor have become poorer. GST compelled the youth to lose employment. Nothing has been done for the farmers. Hence, BJP is losing every electoral battle like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Punjab. All these states had double engine. Is it the fate of its double engine formula?”
Naveen further ridiculed, “Hectic electioneering was held in Gujarat. The assembly seats of Gujarat are 182. In 2017 election, BJP has bagged only 99. It will keep on losing more. BJP is losing across the country.”
“4.5 crores people of Odisha are my family. I’ll keep on serving the people till my last breath. Bless me and cast your vote for conch symbol,” appealed the BJD chief.
He also committed here, “40 lakh farmers have already benefitted from KALIA Yojana. But, the BJP Government at the Centre has conspired to stop this scheme. No one can stop KALIA Yojana till I’m here. On the very first day of the BJD Government is formed, all these farmers will get the pending assistance of two installments at a time in shape of Rs 10,000.”
He further committed, “While the Central scheme allows only Rs 5 lakh health benefits for the women, our Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) assures double amount for the women, Rs 10 lakh.”
Earlier in the day, the BJD supremo held hectic election campaigns in Balasore and Bhadrak parliamentary as well as their assembly constituencies.
