BJP Launches ‘Halla Bol’ Campaign Against BJD Govt, Several Detained

Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of slogan-shouting BJP workers marched in a rally from the Raj Mahal Square towards Naveen Niwas as part of the party’s ‘halla bol’ campaign against the BJD government.

The BJP activists shouted slogans demanding justice for murdered lady teacher of Sunshine English Medium School of Mahaling Mamita Meher and the removal of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra from his post for his alleged links with Gobinda Sahu, the prime accused in the Mamita Meher murder case.

The saffron party men and women were also demanding a CBI probe into Mamita Meher’s murder.

However, the protestors were stopped by the police at the Sishu Bhawan Square preventing them from marching towards Naveen Niwas.

Several of the activists were picked up by the police while they attempted to breach the barricade at Sishu Bhawan Square. They have been detained by the police.
