Sambalpur: Sambalpur MLA and senior BJP leader Jaya Narayan Mishra is back in news for the wrong reasons.
The lawmaker with 10 of his supporters allegedly abused Laxman Amat, Executive Magistrate Sambalpur Sadar in obscene language, and threatened to kill him while the former was engaged in eviction duty at Durgapali, Kusumpara on February 12.
An FIR has been registered against Mishra at the Khetrajpur police station on February 13 on the basis of a written complaint lodged by Amat on February 12.
The FIR states that the Executive Magistrate along with Additional Tahasildar Sadar Saroja Behera, other officers, and police was engaged in the eviction process of unauthorized construction at the aforementioned location when Mishra allegedly appeared at the spot with 10 of his supporters, abused him in obscene language, obstructed eviction work and threatened to kill him.
The police have charged Mishra under sections 143, 294, 186, 353, 506, and 149 of IPC and have launched an investigation into the matter.
