BJP Names Ashrit Pattanayak As Pipili Bye-Election Candidate

Bhubaneswar: The BJP has named Ashrit Pattanayak as its candidate for the Pipili by-election. In the 2014 elections, Ashrit contested as an independent candidate and bagged 18,000 votes. In 2019, Ashrit was fielded as a BJP candidate when he got 72,731 votes.

A press release signed by the National General Secretary of BJP Arun Singh revealed the names of 11 candidates for the bye-elections for Lok Sabha and Assembly seats. The details are as below:

Lok Sabha Seats:

  1. Tirupati – K Ratna Prabha; and
  2. Belgaum Mangala Suresh Angadi.

Assembly Seats:

  1. Madhapur, Jharkhand: Ganga Narayan Singh;
  2. Basavakalyan, Karnataka: Sharanu Salagar;
  3. Masaki, Karnataka: Pratapgouda Patil;
  4. Damoh, Madhya Pradesh: Rahul Singh;
  5. Serchhip, Mizoram: Lalhriatrenga Chhangte;
  6. Pipili, Odisha: Ashrit Pattnayak;
  7. Sahara, Rajasthan: Ratanlal Jat;
  8. Sujangarh, Rajasthan: Kemaram Meghwal; and
  9. Rajsamand: Deepti Maheswari
