Bhubaneswar: The BJP has nominated Talsara MLA Bhabani Shankar Bhoi as its candidate for the Deputy Speaker post in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
A two-time MLA, Bhoi filed his nomination for the Deputy Speaker election after his name was announced. He was first elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2019 from the Talsara constituency in Sundargarh district and successfully retained the seat in the 2024 elections.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by two Deputy Chief Ministers, State Cabinet Ministers, and MLAs, attended the nomination filing ceremony for the Deputy Speaker post in the Assembly Secretary’s chamber.
