BJP Odisha In-Charge Rules Out Change Of Guard in State

**Bhubaneswar:** BJP’s Odisha in-charge Arun Singh today, putting an end to all the speculations regarding the change of guard in State BJP, said that the party will contest the 2019 general elections under the leadership of Basant Panda.

After a recent visit of senior party leader Pratap Sarangi to New Delhi, it was speculated that the saffron party is planning to replace Basant Panda as the State chief.

“Basant Panda is an elected president who belongs to a poor family and has struggled a lot. The BJP will not only fight elections under his leadership but will gain 120 seats and emerge victorious,” said Singh.

Pratap Sarangi also gave a rest to the speculations and said that he had not been called to New Delhi to discuss on the matter.

“I had gone to meet Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over some party affairs and returned after meeting him. There is no such plan regarding change of guard in the State leadership of the party. If there is a need of change, it will be decided by the senior leaders in New Delhi,” said Sarangi.
