Bhubaneswar: The BJD today alleged that the BJP of conspiring against people of Odisha and depriving lakhs of poor beneficiaries of rural housing under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in the State.
Addressing a presser today, BJD MP Sasmit Patra and party spokesperson Shreemayee Mishra blamed the Centre and held BJP MPs from Odisha responsible for disrupting PMAY housing to derive political mileage.
“It is sad to see that people’s representatives are conspiring to stop benefits for the people who have elected them. But it has been seen in the case of the BJP MPs of Odisha who were elected in 2019,” said Patra.
“They worked against the interests of the people in the State by going to Centre as public representatives, conspired and stopped lakhs of Rural Awas houses of people of Odisha under PMAY(G),” he added.
They added that Odisha needs more than 15 lakh houses but Centre has sanctioned only 8 lakh houses and going to stop the rural housing scheme from this year.
