Bhubaneswar: The BJP today staged demonstrations in front of SP offices across the State demanding withdrawal of false case against their party MLA from Deogarh Subash Panigrahi and action against Tileiboni BDO.
The saffron party also submitted a memorandum to Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal in this regard.
According to reports, BJP district units staged dharnas in front of SP offices across the State and organised protest meetings.
Saffron party leaders criticised the Naveen Patnaik government’s misuse of law and maintaining double standards.
They alleged that the Naveen Patnaik government by misuse of government machinery and violence was trying to stifle the voice of opposition for cheap political gains.
The leaders alleged that despite the first filing of FIR by lawmaker Panigrahi, he was arrested on the basis of Tileiboni BDO’s FIR which was filed later. They termed the action illegal.
Further, no action has been taken against the BDO so far, they alleged.
