Bhubaneswar: The Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled States today visited Puri Srimandir and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Puri district administration and police made elaborate security arrangements for the smooth darshan of the Holy Trinity.
All the CMs drove straight to the pilgrim town soon after attending the swearing-in ceremony of new BJP government in Bhubaneswar.
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav, Goa CM Pramod Sawant , Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma, Tripura CM Manik Saha along with their family members visited the 12th century shrine.
On their arrival, the temple administration welcomed them with flower boquetes before escorting them to the temple.
Earlier in the morning, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnaw and Puri MP Sambit Patra paid a visit to the temple and offered worship. They also consumed the Mahaprasad, the photo of which was posted on their social media platform.
“We felt blessed after having darshan of Lord Jagannath. A new government has been formed in Odisha. Mohan Majhi has taken oath as Chief Minister. I congratulate the people of Odisha and new government,” Saini said.
Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma said, “The BJP today formed the government in Odisha. After the swearing- in ceremony, I had the darshan of Lord Jagannath. Odisha will develop under the new government. BJP will work to fulfill all the promises it had made in its manifesto.”
