BJP Stalwart Murli Manohar Joshi Wants Naveen As Odisha's CM For 5th Term

22 January 2018

Pune: While BJP is eyeing for power in Odisha for a very long time now, BJP Stalwart Murli Manohar Joshi wants Naveen Patnaik to continue his office as Chief Minister for a fifth term. Murli Manohar Joshi was at MIT Pune as a guest where Odisha CM was conferred the ‘Ideal Chief Minister of the country’ Award.

Joshi showered praises on the CM saying, Naveen Patnaik deserves yet another term in CM office.

“I am deeply touched with the simplicity and effective manner with which Naveen Babu has gone about his work for close to two decades and sincerely pray to God Almighty that he continues doing so for yet another well-deserved and well -earned term, “ Joshi said unequivocally, cutting across party lines.

Joshi said Patnaik had inherited all of Biju Patnaik’s political acumen and deep concern for the well being of the common man which had helped him enrich and strengthen his undisputed reign in the state of Odisha, like no one before.

Even the former president of the country, Pratibha Patil, could not help asking for more of him.

After seventeen years of selfless, dedicated and characteristically low profile tenure as Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik found nation-wide recognition on Sunday as thousands of students, vigorous leaders across the political spectrum gathered at a spectacular function organized at MIT College Campus where he was conferred the ‘Ideal Chief Minister Of The Country’ Award by the prestigious joint forum Bhartiya Chatra Sansad.

Replying to the honor conferred on him, CM Naveen Patnaik, however, remained in his usual calm and composed demeanor, not letting any of the praise go to his head.

“I dedicate this honour to the four and a half crore people of Odisha who have reposed their faith in me for the last 17 years and continuously blessed me,” he said accepting the award.

"I began my journey twenty years ago as a political novice and never imagined I would be one day standing before all of you as one of the longest serving chief ministers of the country," Patnaik said to thunderous applause.

“I am a bachelor with 4.5 crore loving people as my family,” the chief minister said giving an insight into his functioning.
