Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations to rest over BJP’s possible alliance with BJD in Odisha, the saffron party’s State Unit president Manmohan Samal announced that his party will fight the elections alone in the State.
“We will fight the elections alone in Odisha,” said Samal here on his arrival from Delhi.
The BJP State president said that there was no discussion on any alliance in Odisha.
“There was no discussion on any alliance. We discussed with our top leaders on how we will form governments both at the Centre and the State,” said Samal replying to questions from reporters over his party’s possible alliance with the BJD here in Odisha to fight the upcoming General and State elections.

Speculations were doing rounds after senior leaders of both parties held separate marathon meetings in the State and national capitals respectively.
Two days ago senior BJD leaders Debi Prasad Mishra and Arun Kumar Sahoo had hinted at a possible alliance with BJP.
Mishra had said that the BJD has been working in the interest of Odisha and would not hesitate to do whatever is required in the interest of the State.
Similarly, senior BJP leader and MP Jual Oram after coming out from attending a high-level meeting with BJP national president JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah had hinted to reporters that a possible alliance in Odisha was discussed at the meeting.
