**Bhubaneswar:** With the Panchayat polls round the corner in Odisha, the State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tightened up its belt to pounce down upon the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Preparations are in full swing for the saffron party’s “Janjagran Mahasamavesh” (mammoth public rally) against the ‘Naveen Sarkar’ (Naveen Patnaik led Government) on November 25 here in the capital city.
On Thursday, the poster for the mega political event was unveiled by the BJP at its State headquarters here.
BJP national president Amit Shah will grace the occasion for launching a tirade against Naveen Patnaik’s 17-year-old ‘misrule’.
Samir Mohanty, Vice President, Odisha BJP unit informed, “The November 25 “Janjagran Mahasamavesh” is against the State Government’s inefficiency, dormant attitude and anarchy. Apart from the issuance of ‘Latkas’, ‘Padyatras’ and cycle rallies, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to reach out to the people to make them aware of the 17-year-misrule of Naveen Patnaik’s Government in Odisha.”
Briefing media, senior BJP leader and former MLA Pratap Chandra Sarangi said, “The mega rally will be at Baramunda ground here. There will be heavy rush as people will come from every polling booth across the State. We’ve made elaborate arrangements. Preparatory meetings are still on for the purpose in many booths. The BJD Government here in the State will be warned against its misrule by the huge gathering. Prior to that a ‘Padyatra’ (walkathon) will be held and ‘Latka’ (look-out circular) will be pasted all across the State. Generally ‘Latka’ is issued against an absconder by the police. It will be issued in one and all Gram Panchayats across Odisha. It has already been launched prior to the November 25 “Janjagran Mahasamavesh” displaying that ‘Naveen Government is absconding.’ It’s because there is no redress to any grievances or complaints made by the general public. Starting from the Tehsildar, BDO, Collector and even the Chief Minister, all are turning a deaf ear. When the people will realise that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is absconding, they will rush to the capital city here on November 25 in search of the ‘Naveen Sarkar’ and united effort will be made for clinching their rights.”
