Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Health and Family Welfare department has initiated stringent action against South Point Hospital in Cuttack in the wake of gross irregularities at the health facility. The hospital has been de-empanelled from the state government’s Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) and the Swasthya Mitra deployed at the hospital has been engaged, said the state Health and Family Welfare Shalini Pandit in a notification issued on Friday,
The Health and Family Welfare has also requested the Cuttack district administration to shift all the patients currently undergoing treatment under the BSKY in the hospital to any other appropriate BSKY-empanelled private hospital or to a government health facility for the continuance of uninterrupted treatment.
At the same time, the state team has been instructed to investigate the allegations regarding the claims raised by the hospital earlier vis-à-vis claims scrutinised by the Claim Panel Doctors of State Health Assurance Society.
The department is now collecting patient feedback via outbound calls to all past patients who underwent treatment at the South Point Hospital under the BSKY to find out if any fraud has been committed by the health facility in the past.
