Bhubaneswar: A blanket of dense fog covered Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Friday morning disrupting traffic in the twin cities. Visibility was reduced to 20 to 30 metres at some places in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack due to dense fog this morning.
Isolated places in Puri, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Khurda and Kandhamal also experienced moderate to heavy fog. These places experienced dense fog till 8.30 am forcing the traffic to crawl. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued dense fog warning on Thursday for several districts in Odisha during the next two days.
The MeT office further said that though there will be no large change in the night temperature during the next 4 to 5 days, cold conditions will go owing to heavy for.
Meanwhile, the state government, in the wake of dense fog, sent a routine advisory to district Collectors to take needful steps for controlled driving on the highways in their respective areas.
