Malkangiri: Yet another example of blind belief has been witnessed in MV 104 village under Orkel Police Station of Malkangiri district where a woman claims of curing kidney disease with the help of fried lemon juice.
The woman identified as Charulata Sarkar, who lacks any medical degree, treats people with kidney-related ailments at her house. Though she doesn’t charge any fees from her patients, she only treats them on Tuesday and Saturday.
Charulata asserts that her father was also suffering from kidney disease and she had spent lakhs of rupees on his treatment. On the instruction of Goddess Kali, who visited in her dream, Charulata prepared the medicine and gave it to her father, who was completely cured.
While many people visit Charulata to receive her treatment, it is not necessarily healthy and is not backed by medical science.
