Bargarh: In a gory incident, the blood-soaked body of an unidentified girl was found lying in a pool of blood under the Jeera bridge on Bhadigaon and Srigida road under Bhatli police limits in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Wednesday morning.
Preliminary reports suggest that the girl was murdered. However, the cause of the murder is yet to be ascertained.
A purse, a mobile phone, and the likely weapon used in the murder were found lying near the body.
Local villagers spotted the body early this morning and informed the police. Soon, a team from Bhatli police station arrived at the spot and sent the body for postmortem. The police have launched an investigation into the crime to ascertain the identity of the victim and the cause of the murder.
