Bhubaneswar: Blood spilled on the roads on the festival of colour at Shikharchandi area under Infocity Police station in Bhubaneswar.
According to report, T Raju of Shikharchandi slum area had previous enmity with another youth of the same slum. Their dispute, however, was resolved two months ago.
Today on the occasion of Holi, T Raju was celebrating the festival in slum area with friends. Another youth, who was in an inebriated conditions, suddenly attacked Raju with shovel and iron rod. Raju was profusely bleeding as he suffered critical wounds on head.
A police team which was patrolling in the area, rushed to scene after receiving information.
Police rescued Raju in critical condition and admitted him to Capital hospital, Bhubaneswar.
He was later shifted to a private hospital after his condition deteriorated. His condition is stated to be critical.
On the other hand, police launched an investigation to nab the accused who is absconding from the scene soon after committing the crime.
Police have intensified patrolling in the area following the incident.
