BMC Files Police Complaint Against Cesspool Cleaning Agency

Bhubaneswar: Services under sanitation are being strictly reviewed by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. An action by the city authority is being seen as a warning for people engaging in malpractices in providing sanitation and ancillary services.

Today an FIR was lodged against Sainath Fabric Care with Badagada police in the city

The agency was found releasing fecal sludge in a public area instead of releasing the same in the FSSM plant at Basuaghai.

“It was found that the agency has branded its own vehicle as per the colour code of BMC along with the name of H & UD Department,” the BMC stated.

Previously the agency has been warned and penalised for illegal indiscriminate disposal of fecal sludge. Today by the order of the Commissioner a complaint was lodged against Amulya Kumar Mukhi, Director, Sainath Fabric Care pvt. Ltd under section 268 for public nuisance, section 269 for causing negligent act likely to spread infection or disease, section 270 for causing malignant act to spread infection, section 277 for fouling water of public spring or reservoir, section 290 for committing public nuisance to any person, section 406 for criminal breach of trust, section 420 for cheating and section 425 for wrongful loss or damage to public or any person.

Keeping citizen safety in view and based on the nuisance act of the agency on 28th November and subsequent dissemination by a media house BMC has taken such step, said Deputy Commissioner Sanitation, BMC Suvendu Kumar Sahoo.
