Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday held a preparatory meeting to tackle the situation in the wake of the rising number of Covid cases.
The meeting chaired by Municipal Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange was attended by Superintendents of Capital Hospital, AIIMS, Medical Officers of all CHCs and PHCs, and other senior officials.
Kulange instructed them to conduct mock drills for Covid management at all hospitals from Tuesday onwards. ICU beds will be made available in Capital Hospital to deal with Covid patients.
The number of tests will be increased and if someone is found positive, he or she will be treated at the hospital. Details of the positives will be shared with the BMC.
Awareness programmes in slum areas with community participation, NGOs and SHGs will be intensified. The Municipal Commissioner has directed officials to keep a watch on the slums.
