The violations range between functioning without building plan approval, trade license, non-payment of property tax and inadequate parking facility, etc.
The BMC had set a deadline of January 31 for these mandaps to comply with the norms.
It is worthwhile to mention here that BMC had served notice to 94 numbers of kalyan mandaps/marriage halls having irregularities and only 14 of kalyan mandaps/marriage halls have partially complied with the norms.
Hence, the order for sealing the kalyan mandaps was issued by the BMC after it found that more than 80 percent kalyan mandaps /marriage halls in the city failed to comply.
